Our commitment

ConverteCaixa is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including people with disabilities. We are committed to following internationally recognized web accessibility guidelines.

Accessibility standards

We strive to conform ConverteCaixa to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

Accessibility measures implemented

Semantic structure

  • Use of semantic HTML elements (<header>, <main>, <footer>, <nav>).
  • Correct heading hierarchy (h1 through h3).
  • Ordered and unordered lists using <ul> and <ol>.

Keyboard navigation

  • All interactive elements are keyboard accessible (Tab, Enter, Space).
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
  • "Skip to main content" link for quick navigation.
  • Mobile menu accessible via keyboard.

Screen readers

  • Alternative text (aria-label, aria-hidden) for visual elements.
  • ARIA states and properties (aria-expanded, aria-current, aria-controls).
  • Landmark regions (aria-label for navigation).
  • Status content (role="status", aria-live="polite").

Color contrast

  • Text with minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio against background (AA level).
  • Large text with minimum 3:1 contrast ratio against background.
  • Focus indicators with adequate contrast.

Multimedia content

  • No automatic audio or video content is played.
  • Animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion preference.

Responsiveness

  • Layout adapts to different screen sizes.
  • Text is resizable up to 200% without loss of content.
  • Functions are available on mobile devices and tablets.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technologies

ConverteCaixa is designed to work with:

  • Modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver).
  • Keyboard navigation.
  • Browser zoom.
  • Operating system high contrast mode.

Known limitations

While we strive to ensure full accessibility, there may be some limitations:

  • Text conversion is a JavaScript-based tool; users with JavaScript disabled will not be able to use it.
  • Some advanced converter features may have visual complexity that can be challenging for some users.
